(CARLISLE, IA) The Carlisle Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday, January 6 that Medicap Pharmacy of Carlisle is their Business of the Year, and pharmacy manager Dr. Pamela Goode, Pharm. D, was chosen by the Carlisle School District as Friend of Education for the year. There will be a formal presentation of the awards on Saturday, January 29.
2021 was a busy year for Medicap Pharmacy as the team worked hard to administer COVID-19 and flu vaccine to their neighbors in Carlisle and the surrounding communities. Medicap worked with the city and local businesses to host vaccine clinics at workplaces and out in the community, and the local library assisted those that do not have access to a computer or need assistance filling out the online consent form. Goode led the charge to partner with Carlisle Community Schools to vaccinate faculty, families, and the community.
“Thousands of vaccines have been administered thanks to you all [at Medicap]. You partnered with the library, the city, and the school district to make sure that our teachers, students, families, community members were all protected and has access to the vaccine as easily as could be accomplished,” said Dr. Tyler Villard, DDS, president of Carlisle Chamber of Commerce when announcing the recognition.
Medicap Pharmacy believes it is important to be involved in the community, and this past year has been an opportunity to educate and help those in the community. Vaccination is the best protection a person can have, not just for themselves but for those around them as well.
“It’s an honor to serve our community every day, and I’m so thankful to be here and able to help in this effort,” said Goode.
